John was born and raised in the city of San Francisco. After a stint in the Air Force, he moved to New York City to pursue a theatrical career. Attending the American Academy of the Dramatic Arts, he suddenly began working upon graduation. Starting out in musical theater, (where he performed in the national tour of Man of La Mancha) then wrote, produced and acted in the Off-Broadway play, The Loft before shifting gears toward film. John received the best actor award from the Cine Film Festival for his work on the comedic short, Writer’s Block. He also co-stared in the feature film, Stanley Cuba, The Archive, Inner Circle and Winged Rats.
Starred in the western, Contrition, directed by Jason Begue and received a best actor nomination from the VisionFest in Tribeca in 2010. Also wrote, produced and starred in festival favorite, Psychobabble and co-wrote I am Julia, both directed by production partner, David Capurso. Is also a member of the writing staff of Brooklyn Independent Studios, John’s screenplay titled, 79 Parts was announced by Variety magazine as a production in progress and will begin pre-production by the fall of 2011. John’s other written works include, The Fake, Sic Semper Tyrannus and Thanksgiving.
